WHAT IS THE ACE BOOK?
This is an illustrated encyclopedic fairy tale book written in two different languages – one in English, which all children can understand, and the other in Lithuanian, which will help those born abroad to get acquainted with the alphabet and words of this language.
A large number of children living abroad do not speak Lithuanian as their native language, and some do not speak this language at all. Therefore, finding an accessible way to get acquainted with their roots and read about them becomes difficult.
WHAT IS THE ACE BOOK ABOUT?
The story of the book is about a little fox named Ace and his journey in search of his native land, where he could put down roots. Ace was tragically kidnapped from his home one night and lost in the most remote part of Lithuania. Unplanned and against his will, the fox, who finds himself far from home, must overcome a multitude of challenges to reach his goal.
During the journey, the fox finds new forest friends. A pet owl named Toni, a teddy bear thrown out of the circus named Timofeius, and a reed warbler named Finas help Ace find his long, difficult way home. He is helped not only by his new forest friends, but also by the people he meets – naturalist Tadas Ivanauskas, scientist Jonas Basanavičius, and pilot Steponas Darius. These characters lead the little fox home through various parts of Lithuania. The little fox records his entire journey in a small, worn notebook that he has had with him since he was kidnapped.
